rev . 06-2007 3 / 3 v -infinity , llc, 20050 sw 1 12th a ve., t ualatin, or 97062 www .v-infinity .com 1-866-372-1258 viesd1-sip series dc-dc converter application notes: - filteringin some circuit s which are sensitive to noise and ripple, a filtering cap acitor may be added to the dc/dc output end and input end to reduce the noise and ripple. however , the cap acit ance of the output filter cap acitor must be appropriate. if the cap acit ance is too big, a st artup problem might arise. for every channel of output, providing that safe and reliable operation is ensured, the greatest cap acit ance of it s filter cap acitor is shown in the external cap acitor t able. t o get an extreme low ripple, an ?lc? filtering network may be connected to the input and output ends of the dc/dc converter , which may produce a more significant filtering ef fect. it should also be noted that the induct ance and the frequency of the ?lc? filtering network should be st aggered with the dc/dc frequency to avoid mutual interference (see figure 1). dc c l l dc c -vin +vin -vout +vout - requirement on output loadt o ensure this module can operate ef ficiently and reliably , a minimum load is specified for this kind of dc/dc converter in addition to a maximum load(namely full load). during operation, make sure the specified range of input volt age is not exceeded, the minimum output load is not less than 10% of thefull load, and that this product should never be operated under no load! if the actual output power is very small, please connect a resistor with proper resist ance at the output end in p arallel to increase the load, or use our comp any? s product s with a lower rated output power . - overload protectionunder normal operating conditions, the output circuit of these product s has no protection against over-current and short-circuit s. the simplest method is to connect a self-recovery fuse in series at the input end or add a circuit breaker to the circuit. external ca p acitor t able v in ex ternal cap a citor v out ex ternal cap a citor 5v dc 4 . 7uf 5v dc 4.7uf 12v dc 2 . 2uf 9v dc 2.2uf 24v dc 1 u f 12v dc 1uf -- -- 15v dc 0.47uf
