P r o d u c t IIn n o v a t i o n FFr room nnova m SA60 SA60 The SA60 is a pulse width modulation amplifier that cansupply10Acontinuouscurrenttotheload.Thefull bridge amplifier can be operated over a wide range ofsupplyvoltages.Allofthedrive/controlcircuitryfor the lowside and highside switches are internal to the hybrid. ThedesignerneedstoappreciatethattheSA60combinesinonecircuitbothhighspeedhighpowerswitchingand lowlevelanalogsignals.Certainlayoutrulesofthumbmustbeconsideredwhenacircuitboardlayoutisdesigned usingtheSA60: 1. Bypassingofthepowersuppliesiscritical.Capacitorsmustbeconnecteddirectlytothepowersupplypinswith veryshortleadlengths(wellunder1inch).Ceramicchipcapacitorsarebest. 2. CURRENTSENSE Therearetwoloadcurrentsensingpins,ISENSEAandISENSEB.ThetwopinscanbeshortedtoPOWERGND inthevoltagemodeconnectionbutbothmustbeusedinthecurrentmodeconnection.Itisrecommendedthat RSENSEresistorsbenon-inductive.LoadcurrentflowsintheISENSEpins.TheSA60hasnointernalcurrent limit. AnRCnetworkofa100pFCapacitorandaoneohmresistorisrequiredasshownintheexternalconnectiondiagramonpage1.Thisnetworkassuresproperoperationundervariousloads.Minimalpowerisdissipatedinthe resistor.
