www.fairchildsemi.com KA258/KA258A, KA358/KA358A, KA2904 Dual Operational Amplifier Features * Internally Frequency Compensated for Unity Gain * Large DC Voltage Gain: 100dB * Wide Power Supply Range: KA258/KA258A, KA358/KA358A: 3V ~ 32V (or 1.5V~ 16V) KA2904 : 3V~26V (or 1.5V ~ 13V) * Input Common Mode Voltage Range Includes Ground * Large Output Voltage Swing: 0V DC to Vcc - 1.5V DC * Power Drain Suitable for Battery Operation. Description The KA258 series consist of two independent, high gain, internally frequency compensated operational amplifiers which were designed specifically to operate from a single power supply over a wide range of voltage. Operation from split power supplies is also possible and the low power supply current drain is independent of the magnitude of the power supply voltage. Application areas include transducer amplifier, DC gain blocks and all the conventional OP-AMP circuits which now can be easily implemented in single power supply systems. 8-DIP 1 8-SOP 1 9-SIP 1 Internal Block Diagram OUT1 1 8 VCC IN1 (-) 2 + 7 OUT2 6 IN2 (-) 1 VCC 2 OUT1 + 4 IN1(+) + 5 GND 6 IN2(+) 7 IN2(-) IN1 (+) 3 + 3 IN1(-) 8 OUT2 9 VCC Rev. 1.0.2 GND 4 5 IN2 (+) (c)2002 Fairchild Semiconductor Corporation KA258/KA258A, KA358/KA358A, KA2904 Schematic Diagram (One section only) VCC Q5 Q6 Q12 Q17 Q19 Q20 Q2 IN(-) Q1 R2 IN(+) Q11 Q21 Q15 Q7 Q8 Q9 Q10 Q13 Q14 Q16 OUTPUT Q3 Q4 C1 Q18 R1 GND Absolute Maximum Ratings Parameter Supply Voltage Differential Input Voltage Input Voltage Output Short Circuit to GND VCC15V, TA = 25C(One Amp) Operating Temperature Range Storage Temperature Range Symbol VCC VI(DIFF) VI TOPR TSTG KA258/KA258A 16 or 32 32 -0.3 to +32 Continuous -25 ~ +85 -65 ~ +150 KA358/KA358A 16 or 32 32 -0.3 to +32 Continuous 0 ~ +70 -65 ~ +150 KA2904 13 or 26 26 -0.3 to +26 Continuous -40 ~ +85 -65 ~ +150 Unit V V V C C 2 KA258/KA258A, KA358/KA358A, KA2904 Electrical Characteristics (Vcc = 5.0V, VEE = GND, TA = 25C, unless otherwise specified) Parameter Input Offset Voltage Input Offset Current Input Bias Current Input Voltage Range Supply Current Large Signal Voltage Gain Output Voltage Swing CommonMode Rejection Ratio Power Supply Rejection Ratio Channel Separation Short Circuit to GND Symbol VIO IIO IBIAS VI(R) Conditions VCM = 0V to VCC -1.5V VO(P) = 1.4V, RS = 0 VCC = 30V (KA2904, VCC = 26V) RL = , VCC = 30V (KA2904, VCC = 26V) RL = , VCC = 5V VCC = 15V, RL = 2k VO(P) = 1V to 11V VCC = 30V RL = 2k (VCC = 26V for KA2904) RL = 10k VCC = 5V, RL = 10k KA258 KA358 KA2904 Unit mV nA nA V mA mA V/mV V V mV dB Min.
